Foods that a pregnant woman should avoid eating. Women should be pampered especially when they are pregnant, they should be given space to breathe and their partners or family members must ensure that they eat healthy food all the time. There are certain foods that a pregnant woman should avoid eating for the sake of the baby’s health.

A pregnant woman must avoid eating high Mercury fish in higher amounts, it can be toxic to your nervous system, immune system, and kidney. It may also cause a serious developmental problem in children with adverse effects even in a lower amount. Large marine fish can accumulate a high amount of mercury.

The main reason why a pregnant woman should avoid certain foods is that when you are pregnant your immune system is weaker so you are more susceptible to bacteria, viruses, and other things that may lead to the illness. Avoid raw foods, like fish, shellfish, meat, and eggs, with that being said, sushi is not good for your health when you are pregnant. Also, avoid eating unwashed fruits and veggies. Alcohol shouldn’t be consumed by pregnant women.
